Após algumas
semanas de espera, devido ao constante estado de embriaguez
dos membros de Anal Vomit, que levou até ao esquecimento da
entrevista, a Ritualis Metallum
Infernalium
lá conseguiu contar com
as respostas a um par de perguntas que tivemos oportunidade
de fazer à banda.
O resultado dessa
pútrida e ranhosa entrevista, regada a álcool sul-americano
fica então aqui à vista de todos:
1 – It is an honor to have the
possibility to interview such an excellent band as Anal
Vomit is. How the hell did Anal Vomit started as a band? Is
Anal Vomit an evolution of what Necrofucker was?
Noizer: Rotten hails my friendo! From
Lima-Peru Hell Terror! Anal Vomit was bred on the year 1992
by the drummer Destructor and the other ex-gutarrist
Necrofucker. It was a dirty grind/death metal band where
Toñyn Destructo (drums) and Walter Profanator (Guitar)
played. That band doesn’t exist anymore.
2 – Anal Vomit is a very dirty
and rotten thrash outfit, which is my favorite type of
thrash. Does Anal Vomit give you enough money to pay the
beer you drink? I mean, do you have any kind of profit with
your band or Anal Vomit exists only for fun and to play some
live gigs?
We basically only
have Money to survive, for alcohol and drugs, sometimos they
pay us for every show, but that Orly covers the price of the
voyage and the beer.
3 – I discovered your band on your split with Goat
Semen (another fucking great band from Peru), “Devotos del
Diablo” and damn, that was a hell of a split. Unfortunately,
I later found that it is composed of re-issued material only.
Anyway, how much do you think you’ve improved from the first
demo “Rotten Pregnancy Masturbator” until your second and
lastest full-length “Depravation”? Is Anal Vomit a better or
a worse band?
I think the musical situation and the composition
process was different and to me, logically got better alter
the demo “Into the Eternal Agony”, released on 1997 and
until now the compositions follow the same morbid and
corrosive pattern and therefore, we continue our battle
against the today’s World.
4 – “Demoniac Flagellations”, your debut album,
maintained the dementia and madness from the first demos,
iconic images of Anal Vomit and it is an album that is
highly praised among the thrashers throughout the world.
Some people say it’s the best black/thrash album since
Sarcófago’s “INRI”. How much do you appreciate your first
album and have you personally received some good feedback?
Yes, you’re right, a lot of
people said to us exactly the same andi t is an album very
important for the south-american scene and for the
underground world and we are very happy and proud to have
created such an important work for the underground metal.
5 – Yet about your first
album, I know that the first vinyl pressing came with a
cover from Sepultura’s “Troops of Doom”. The second pressing
and the CD came with the cover of “Antichrist”, also from
Sepultura. How far have Sepultura influenced you the most?
What bands besides Sepultura have influenced your sound?
Our main influences are Sarcófago,
Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Destruction, Sodom, Morbid Angel,
Slayer, Sacrifice, etc etc…
6 – It took another three years to finally
hear a new record from Anal Vomit! What took you so long to
make another record? What happened between those three years?
We are
rehearsing all the time, working on our personal lives that
every musician has besides the band and also touring on some
other South-american countries like Ecuador, Colombia,
Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and also cities of our own country,
this was the reason why it took us so long to record. We are
now scheduled to record another album on 2009.
7 – “Depravation” came
out the last year and it brought another 10 satanic anthems
for thrashers to bang their head and I personally think you
haven’t slowed down a single bit, delivering another
full-fronted thrash assault in the same vein as “Demoniac
Flagellations”. How was the reception to this second album?
The
acceptance of the underground public was really good and
respectable with morbid and excelent reviews of our songs
and of our crude and direct sound. Everything ok,
fortunately!

– Having a band brings a lot of advantages such as money,
free beer and lots of chicks. What do you like most in
having a band?
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees, sometimes is really interesting to have
a band to drink beer, wine, eat well but in some other times
that isn’t so good because we think that we possess money
but that isn’t correct, we survive from music.
9 – Some weeks ago I
attended a live gig of the Colombian/American band
Inquisition and, shit, I was one of the best concerts I’ve
ever been! I’ve also noticed that the underground scene in
South America has grown a lot in the past decade. Is the
South American underground as good as it is said? Why do you
that among all other places in the world, South America
became one of the epicenters of black and thrash movements?
Yes, South-america has a great scene that goes
from far back in time. It always existed and it will always
exist lots of important bands in south-america. Actually,
Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Chile and Bolivia have very
important underground bands.
10 – I have made an interview for the
Brazilian thrash metal band Violator, don’t know if you ever
heard of them, but they are quite good. Anyway, I asked them
something that I’m going to ask you know: I suppose Slayer,
Exodus, Dark Angel, etc, are all great influences to you,
just like Sepultura and Sarcófago. Does it bother you the
path taken by those legends, for example the path taken by
Metallica, Sepultura and Slayer?
The bands that you’ve mentioned are very important to
us and to all other metalheads around the World for leaving
a legacy of great influence with its first albums that still
mark us today.
11 – Have you ever thought of doing a European tour? You
would get a lot of people attending an Anal Vomit gig here
in Portugal and I’m sure they would welcome you in a very
pleasant way. Is there any possibility of watching Anal
Vomit playing live here in Portugal or in Europe?
We hope that someone invites us to play
on other countries but until now, we haven’t received any
invitations. I hope it happens on 2009, it would be awesome!
12 – Thanks for accepting
this interview, I hope you enjoyed it. Want to say anything
else to the RMI’s readers?
Thank you for having contacted us, we will always be ready
to attack!
